IOHNIC is a new sustainable lighting concept developed and trademarked by Sacyr Concesiones that solves the problems of uniformity, glare and visibility in tunnels. With this system, we aim to improve the experience of drivers travelling through tunnels, as well as optimising the life and efficiency of their energy systems.
The design and prototyping took into account luminance, tightness, energy consumption, installation and maintenance, control system, production feasibility and cost, ergonomics and legal compliance. After three years of testing and prototyping, we arrived at a solution whose design, appearance and components perfectly met Sacyr's objectives.
In this way, IOHNIC not only guarantees a balance between environmental protection, social well-being and economic growth, but also meets the highest quality standards in the industry.
Due to its quality and innovative potential, IOHNIC has been awarded with a Quality Innovation Award (QIA) 2023, in the large company category (national and international phases). These awards, granted in the framework of a competition created by Excellence Finland, seek to enhance innovation in each country and on an international level.
