IOHNIC is a unique solution created and patented by Sacyr Concesiones, that brings together the highest quality and technology standards under the principles of energy efficiency, innovation and sustainability. Our tunnel lighting system is based on the longitudinal continuity of the luminaires. This continuity eliminates the problems of uniformity and glare, which are essential aspects to be considered when designing improved lighting systems and fixtures for tunnels. As a result, the system provides 100% longitudinal uniformity and overall uniformity close to 100%. 

IOHNIC also eliminates the flickering effect produced by conventional lighting systems with independent light points. At the same time, the installation’s continuity allows the use of tightly closed optics that direct the light beams onto the road and not into the driver's eyes, avoiding glare.

IOHNIC is made up of a range of more than 500 different luminaires ranging from 6 to 320 Watts per LED module. This allows the luminaire to adapt perfectly to the CIE visual curve, avoiding the typical staggering of the conventional reinforcement lighting at the tunnel entrances.

The continuity and linearity of our solution generates an effect that guides users, making driving easier and more predictable, especially in tunnels with curved layouts.
These glare and uniformity advantages improve the sensitivity of the human eye by more than 30% compared to other solutions, so obstacles can be detected earlier. This also improves the comfort, safety and appearance of the tunnels where it is installed.
IOHNIC also significantly improves energy savings due to the efficiency of its luminaires (up to 170 lumens per watt), and also thanks to the real-time adaptation of the light flux to external luminance and traffic.

This system was developed in compliance with the manufacturing and installation regulations to improve road safety.
